proper usage of headset with A900

How do I bypass the headset if I want to answer a call using the cell phone only?

Scenario:
Discovery 640 is paired with Samsung A900 phone.
Discovery is powered on and is in the carrying case.
Bluetooth icon is blue in color on phone indicating they are connected.

An incoming call arrives.
I just want to answer it normally via the handset and not use the bluetooth headset. I open the phone and press SEND to answer the call.
The problem is, the audio is at the headset in my pocket. I cannot hear the caller on the handset. I must first select options, then transfer audio to get the caller back to the handset.

Is there an easier way? I would think that it would know the headset is still docked in it's carrying case and keep the audio at the handset.

Scenario 2:
Discovery 640 is powered off.
Phone bluetooth icon is black indicating no connection.

An incoming call arrives.
I'd like to answer it with the headset.
I press the button on the headset for ~2 seconds.
I hear a beep and wait.
The bluetooth icon on the phone turns blue and I hear another beep in the headset.
I then push the button on the headset again to answer the phone.
Nothing happens, the call is still ringing and I cannot get the headset to pick up the call. I have to answer it using the handset.

Is there a better way to do this so that the headset will connect to the phone and the answer button on the headset will actually pick up the call?

You can transfer the audio to your handset by a long Press of the Call Control Button while paired and while there is an incoming call.

If your headset is not paired when a call comes in, I don't think you will be able to pair it and answer the call while on the same call. Just leave your headset paired if you want to answer it through it and not the phone.

Ok. So in other words if the headset is paired, there's no way to answer the call on the handset without first touching the headset to hold the button and transfer the incoming call's audio to the handset before I say hello.

You may also open your handset and answer the call. Then press the right soft key and select Option 1 to transfer audio. You can also do this again to transfer the audio to the headset again.

So two ways to transfer the audio - from the phone and the headset.
