I know someone who works in business support. I was going to switch over to the SERO plan probably tomorrow and pay the same thing but get an extra 500 minutes along with adjustability (The 99.99 plan). If I'm a consumer with a business discount, is that person still able to help me with my account?

Out of curiousity, does the Unlimited PV include RL? I have a ready link vision unlimited w/ PM but do not have a RL phone. And I have 100 free text messages, can I keep those too or perhaps become unlimited?

I'll gladly switch my Unlim. Vision w/ PM and RL for a Unlim. PV with P/M and V/M, but if I could keep ready link with the new plan, thatd be cool too.

Geez, a lot of people wanting things for free. It does not come with RL or text messaging. Both of those are extra.

I get those for free ANYWAY, it was part of my package. I don't use RL much, its the text messaging that's more important.

well, all this were in tha previous, already-existin' SERO threads. there is no one way to get it done. and there has been one SU who was able to get a consumer rep' to perform tha SERO switchover on his their business account. but normally, they're not supposed to.

you could have asked that someone you know who works in business support.

Is it possible to upgrade from a lower SERO plan to a higher one (from 1250 > 2500) or do you have to stick with the SERO plan you get?

I asked that question in an email to the SERO plan folks who forwarded it to ecare. The response was that I would be able to switch and I believe that I made clear I meant after the June 30th date. Of course we will not know until someone tries after June 2006.

PS: I was asking about the 500 -> 1250 but I expect the answer would be the same for 1250->2500

I suppose since someone started another SERO thread i would ask...

Has anyone signed up for a sero plan with a 1x vision phone and switched their phone to an EVDO phone? Will the EVDO work without having to change anything on the plan since the vision is embedded part of the plan?

I figured I might as well wait the extra two days to use the phone rather than have to fight with CS about it...although eCare is supposed to be giving me a call soon so I hope I get my phone in before then.

Took me 5 calls to Customer Service to get a rep who knew how to do it.

To obtain SERO there are a couple ways:

1. Call in to *2 with your cell phone (outlined below)
2. Sign up with new service thru the SERO site www.sprint.com/sero

Thru Customer Service:


call *2
Press your language option
say speak to a representative

***BE VERY VERY NICE but firm***

-This will extend your contract for 2 more years.
-Tell him/her you wanted to switch plans and a friend who worked at sprint recommended one to you.
-Mention SERO and that it suits your needs.
-Smile, cross fingers and hope they can do it.

-If they refer you to site, kindly thank them and call back. My verbage around this was Inphonic wants me to cancel my current number. My number was important for business reasons so I couldn't go that route. I mention that I know a few others who went thru CS to get it done. ***For what it's worth, the rep who did mine did not even mention any of that. They said "Okay, what plan do you want?" "Great, I see it right here. Let's set you up!"***

You'll know within the first few minutes if they can pull it off by how they react and the feeling they convey over the phone. The rep I got was VERY confident and had been working for Sprint for 3-4 years.

SO FAR, I've had a male rep switch my plan and heard of another male rep from another SU member who got SERO did there plan change. That's not to say that the female reps can't do it, I just have not heard of any so far. [This note is no way meant to be sexist, just stating obvious facts.]

Okay, so if the rep needs help (as some have NOT heard of SERO yet) direct them to the site listed above. For me, I assumed that if they haven't heard of it, it's a small chance they know how to manipulate the system in a way to get you the plan if you are an existing user.

Process (should be self explanatory, just tell them the plan and features you want, ALONG with what benefits you have already and want to keep).

Some of the things I'd kindly ask the rep to note IN YOUR ACCOUNT, just in case something goes wrong (that's how I phrase it):

Notes:

-Can upgrade or downgrade to the other SERO plans later
-Picture Mail and Video mail free note
-EVDO note that will allow you to switch to an EVDO plan (If you have a Non-PV phone and plan on upgrading later)

That's the steps I've taken to get the plan. I'm not 100% sure I'll get it as I have to wait until my next billing cycle to see the changes.

Some false assumptions as other members currently posted they have gotten past that situation:

-Have to get a new number
-Only for new activations
-Can't have business discounts
-No other promos can be applied
