EVO 4G - Rooted - Issues - Questions about GPS
A while back ago, I rooted and have used CyanogenMod mod for a while. Overall, it did what I wanted and no real complaints.
Recently, my GPS stopped getting a fix. So I took the forums and read about the GPS FIX issue. Basically, it looks like I had to flash a Sense ROM, enter some codes, and then go back to CyanogenMod. I flashed to Fresh (the latest one) and did the GPS fix by entering the numbers on the dialpad and entering my MSL. The GPS still doesn't get a fix. I didn't flash back to CyanogenMod, but wanted to confirm GPS was fix using the Fresh ROM. Doing some more reading, it looks like the latest Fresh is Gingerbread and the fix is only for Froyo or older? (?) Also, some people say to flash the radio and or kernals. How do I determine which radios/kernals I have now? Is flashing that the same as a ROM - go into recovery, choice zip from sd card, etc? Finally, I tried to go to a Froyo ROM but now that Megaupload is down I either get a broken link or some new download service that wants to install a .EXE on my machine, which my NOD32 antivirus warns me against. Thanks Brian |

Fresh is really old. If you want a stock sense ROM, use Capt Throwback's rom.

Or check out CleanROM.
The 4G, being an older device, has been relegated to the archive, but it's an awesome spin on the stock ROM. |

There is still an active dev community for the EVO 4G. Yeah, it's over 2 years old but they are still putting some really good ROMs out.
