800 MHz officially approved by FCC for LTE and 3G

The FCC today agreed unanimously to allow 3G and LTE transmissions in the 800 MHz ESMR band. This opens the door for Sprint to begin deploying 800 MHz LTE on its towers if it so chooses to. However Sprint is still in the process of decommissioning iDEN towers as well as actively moving iDEN customers to CDMA PTT so I doubt we will see 800 MHz LTE anytime soon.

This is great news for us Sprint customers who have been waiting for LTE and better building penetration similar to Verizon and AT&T.
