Joe Paterno resign?

Just wondering your thought about the Penn St sex abuse scandal. I think Joe Paterno could have done more then what he did back in 2002.

Everyone involved should either resign or be fired. But I'm basing my opinion off of what has been reported so far. Obviously we don't know everything as far as what Paterno did or didn't do, but right now it looks like it wasn't even close to enough. So IMO he shouldn't coach another game as the head coach of Penn State. This whole thing just makes me sick, not just what Sandusky did, but all the people that did nothing to stop it from happening again.

Penn State's Joe Paterno to retire end of the season which I figured he was probably going to do anyway.

I don't think he'll last until the end of this season, even though that's what he'd like to do.

Never thought I'd see "Joe Paterno" and "sex scandal" in the same sentence.

There aren't that many games left. I'm sure he'll coach the season out.

In less than 6 hours I've been proven wrong, lmao.

Both football coach Joe Paterno and president Graham Spanier are out at Penn State in the wake of a disturbing child sex abuse scandal involving a former assistant coach.

Covering up that whole thing is just wrong so I have to agree with the decision. I didn't think though that they would fire him.

Speechless. I like many of you love the game but it's hard to enjoy when these things are exposed.

Then again I thought Miami should have been punished more then Ohio State but they just got a slap on the wrist.

So initially I was partially in the camp of "let Paterno finish the season" However the more I read into this situation that has completely gone away.

I think it's ridiculous that McQueary was going to be allowed to coach this Saturday (he isn't now but only supposedly because of threats not because he did the bare minimum as Jo Pa did)

I agree he did a bunch for the school and has a legacy of integrity with the program up until now that he is leaving behind. However all the integrity and good of his legacy was thrown out the window as soon as he didn't follow up on the situation.

I read the Grand Jury report last night and it certainly makes me agree with the decision of the Trustees. I think this is just the beginning and this will get a whole lot worse.

I really don't understand how Sandusky could have still been allowed by the school and by his organization to even be around children and their respective programs after the initial allegation was reported to police from the wrestling room incident in 1998.

Heartbreaking is what this is.

EDIT: Sorry the 1998 investigation didn't have to do with the wrestling room incident. the 1998 incident dealt with what the Grand Jury is referring to Victim 6. There also were other reported incident to various employee supervisors such as the janitor who was afraid of losing his job after he reported a different incident to his superior as well.

Oh god Jerry Sandusky interview with Bob Costas was sick. Wish they can just speed this trial up and lock that freak up for life.

I'm surprised his attorney even let him talk.
