Error 67: Registration Failure
I've had my Samsung Epic for almost a year now and have had very few issues and for the most part have been very happy with the phone. However, today I lost all data connectivity (other than SMS) on my phone and can't seem to get it back.
I was investigating what is involved in using the Sprint HotSpot feature. I found the app on the phone and launched it, but that's as far as that went. I didn't click to turn it on, just wanted to see if it gave me any details about how to activate the service. I closed the app and went on the computer and went online looking for details for the service. After a few minutes I noticed that I didn't have any data service on my phone. That's not all that unusual as I don't have very good service inside my office building so I turned on the WiFi radio and was using data that way instead. I turned WiFi back off and when I did I got that error. It doesn't stay up for long and just goes away on its own. "Error 67: Registration Failure. Your Sprint data service username and/or password may be incorrect. Please try again." I never activated the Hot Spot feature, but since receiving this error I tried activating and disabling again. I've shut down and restarted several times. I've also pulled the battery 3 times, the last time leaving it out for about a half hour and putting it back in and starting back up (that was a suggestion I found on another forum). This is the standard stock image from Sprint/Samsung. It has not been rooted, no custom ROMs, etc. I have to go out of town tomorrow for work and need my phone back. If anyone can help I'd obviously greatly appreciate it. |

call sprint tech suport, it's just a simple provisioning error.

Fixed
Been trying to do a profile update, but kept erroring out because I had no network connectivity. Tried via WiFi and that didn't work either.
We dont have 4g in our area, but tried turning that antenna on and then for some reason was able to finally do a profile update and all is well!! |

Do the profile update. It will only work when you are on the Sprint network.

Are you running a custom ROM? Sometimes they don't set up the provisioning stuff correctly. If so, you might need to go back to the stock rom or find someone in tech support who is willing to help you enter info by hand.

If you don't know what a custom ROM is then you likely haven't installed one (unless someone else did it for you) so ignore what I suggested.
Are you roaming or have weak signal when you do the profile update? Either one of those can cause issues. |

Update Profile won't work in your case. It is only there for provisioning a Sprint phone on a Sprint network.
