I'd say the EVO 3D is almost assuredly considered the "sequel" to the EVO 4G. Other than the 3D aspect it has everything you would expect the EVO 2 to be, same form factor basically, with upgraded specs. If there was an "EVO 2" it would be almost the same phone without the 3D, unless the EVO 2 is released a year from now they can't really make it much better with the technology available for release right now.

3D camera and camcorder
QHD Screen, making the phone a bit slimmer and easier to hold in hand
More internal memory (4GB vs 1GB)
More RAM (1GB vs 512MB)
Faster processor (dual core vs single core)
Better GPU for games
Bigger battery/better battery life
Newer version of sense
Given that the 3D upgrades almost every aspect of the 4G but you say that you don't need any of it, what exactly are you looking for? Perhaps you don't need a high end phone?

I guess a phone that outshines the 4G. sure it 'upgrades' in the various areas, but nothing that to ME that makes me want to preorder the phone. I could see how going from a Hero to Evo 3d make sense, but in to me, it just doesnt.

As far as your last comment, I'm not sure if thats supposed to be a serious question or a personal attack? is my Evo 4g not a high end phone? or is it not one because i don't find the need for the 3d, even after explaining my view on the mentioned 'upgrades'?

oh well, one more 3d for someone

Didn't mean it as a personal attack. Sorry if it came across that way.

I was just trying to figure if the 3D upgrades from the 4G in almost every aspect, in a few cases by almost an order of magnitude, what else would someone need before upgrading? What other widget would be needed? Perhaps NFC? Perhaps LTE?

when I upgraded from TP2 to Evo I could instantly tell/see the differences. But going from 4G to 3D, I personally don' t think I'd benefit that much from a faster phone. Had it included Samoled, dlna, and nfc that would be perfect. I guess I still feel the biggest draw to the phone is 3D, a feature I don't want or would never probably use. Like I said before, I have my reasons and thus one more 3D phone for someone that wants it.

If I had an Evo I wouldn't be upgrading. The Evo 4G is still a great phone! I jumped on the Android ship when it was still a baby and got Sprint's first Android phone, the Hero. Android has come a long way since the Hero came out, which is why I feel the need to upgrade ASAP! I would be happy with any 1Ghz phone like the Epic or the Evo 4G. They are still top notch phones in my opinion.

Personally for my needs I'm happy with my phone. I don't feel the need to upgrade, especially for full price. It's not laggy or anything. Even IF I could upgrade, my phone fits my needs.

I don't thing that makes me less then anyone here

The Evo 3D DOES "outshine" the Evo 4G, it's just not up to the standards 'YOU' want it to be.

The phone will be another big hit with Sprint, whether you want to support it or not.

I think he was just saying for his personal needs he doesn't feel it's a big jump.

TP2 Was (is for me) basically running on 18 month old hardware when it came out. Basically the same soic as was on the original Touch which came out in 2007. It had hardware video acceleration in hardware, but it was completely broken in software, so any 3d/video was being handled in software by a previous generation 528MHz processor. And it had(has) WM... And then you upgraded to a current high-end phone running Android.
So no, you aren't going to see that big of a difference.
