Disappearing apps? (Optimus S)

Yesterday I noticed one of my apps just disappeared completely from my phone. When I went to the market to reinstall it, it said my phone was not compatible with the app. This morning, I can reinstall fine.

I also just noticed several other apps seem missing - sort of. When I look at the Manage Application list, I see several that instead of showing, for example, the Scanner Radio icon and "Scanner Radio", show a generic SD card icon and text like "com.scannerradio". If I click on that app, my only choices are Uninstall and Clear Data. So it looks like the app itself got wiped out somehow. This has happened to about 5 or 6 apps.

Any ideas? Did something get corrupted on my SD card - I think all of the affected apps had been moved to SD.

Edit: After powering the phone off and back on, everything is back to normal. Still not sure what happened - obviously something with the SD card.

This happens to me with some regularity. No sure why, but when I reboot the missing apps reappear. I thought it might have something to do with the Widget Locker app, but now I'm not too sure.

Are you running software version ZVC or ZVD? There is a bug where some SD cards get unmounted for no apparent reason that is fixed in those versions.

I wouldn't necessarily go out and grab those versions if you aren't running them, because there are potential negative side effects depending on how you are using your phone. You can search for them if you are interested.

Don't know about the OP, but I got ZVD. I did have that unmounting problem when I first got the phone. After formatting a different SD card, the problem immediately went away. I think it's one of the apps that runs on startup causing problems.

I have noticed only happen a few times. I unmount and mount the SD card and everything goes back to normal.
