This seems to be a problem with some and not others. I got one for my daughter and no complaints even though she loaded it up. I am wondering if there is something else eating up the memory. You would need to monitor the memory with no apps to see if the memory slowly goes down or if something like the text database is getting out of control.

it's gotta be something running in the background (Capt. Obvious, reporting for duty...). We will be able to tell by usage of specific apps, or what those that dont have teh problem have NOT used.

I wonder if it's tied to the Maps/Lattitude/StreetView 'suite', or as someone mentioned in another thread, some sort of logging function (like debugging) that is turned on when a specific app or platform is used. GPS/Foursquare? Pandora? Tweetcaster? What gives?

Anyways, we'll see. If you have seen this issue, DM me and I'll log your issue... I want strength in numbers.

I dont know, I will have to research it on xda-developers. z4root used to work, but i think they pulled it from the market? that was at christmas time. we did find it when we googled it though.

<corporate duty on>Root at your own risk! This can be a violation of T&C's, so be careful.<corporate duty off>

I would like to know there is a logging function that is turned on and left on with the stock load that may be initiating this drain. As I stated in an earlier post, I think this has to do with one app or one TYPE of app that only certain users use, because not everyone with the Optimus S has the memory issue.

STILL WAITING FOR THOSE PRIVATE MESSAGES WITH YOUR SPECIFIC PROBLEMS! I WANT TO HELP YOU IF YOU'VE GOT THIS ISSUE ON YOUR OPTIMUS S!

This is what's holding me back. I've looked into it but it seems a little overwhelming. Not sure I want to hassle with it.

Is anyone using the Email client for email? If so, go to settings, applications, manage applications, select all, then go to email. I looked at mine and it had over 80mb of data. Cleared data and I'm good. Son was using this client for his Yahoo mail. Problem is that it downloads and keeps all emails on the phone. Cleared the data and set him up with the Yahoo mail app and all is good. Worth a try...
