I tried to download a real live wallpaper but could not get it to work from a 3rd party. there is a switch to allow animated wallpapers which was turned off by default. I turned it on - ok, a few things showed like clouds moving across the screen.

I did download and install and set up the voice keyboard listed earlier. that works really good.

like others, i am doubtful that sprint will include those features in the final release....

A couple things i noticed...

Batter does seem to be better in standby, but same or worse when being used.

Haptic feedback wont turn off for some reason.

HTC clock and weather widget will not work in my location anymore.

Most of the lag is gone especially in the dialer. Don't know if that's from the wipe or 2.1 but I did put all my apps back on.

I'm missing about 3-4 paid apps and they don't show in the market. I've heard of this before so I think they'll come back when sprint releases this.

Where did you find the switch for the live wallpapers. I can only find the full animations switch.

Send a message via Yahoo to J.M.W.
Wirelessly posted (HTC Hero: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.0.1; en-us; Droid Build/ESD56) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)

I'll wait, Sprint will spite everyone

who upgraded, with different release. That's the kind of crap they'd pull.

Oh root rooty root root root! Said it first!

Well just update a couple of minutes ago. It took a while for the phone to reboot and it seems that everything is working.

I did get some weird data/network error but whatever it is it seems that it got resolved.

PS. Screw you Sprint.

Yeah I couldn't either. You can DL the free version and restore from that. I don't think we'll see it a many others until this update is official.

Fandango is gone from the market too. I know a lot prefer "Movies" over that, but I can't find it anymore.

Is the Facebook sync error (For people that have lots of FB contacts) fixed? That and the dialer lag are the only two issues I really have on Fresh.

You know, I reinstalled Handcent (habit from when the phone was originally leaked, to avoid the battery leak issue) after upgrading to the 2.1 leak, but had found that I was having problems sending pictures, and texts in general. I deleted that, went back to stock, and everything seems to be working much better. Handcent had gotten pretty bloated - almost 2 MB, and I really didn't need all the animated greetings.

Thumbs up overall for the upgrade!
