Two items with 2.1 that I really appreciate. they might have worked in 1.5, but with changes they work now
-- commas between numbers DO create pauses in dialing and the # sign really works as hard pause. in 1.5 my numbers showed with ,'s and #'s but never worked. Here they actually do. that is good for all the conference bridges I have to get on -- I think sync between computer and phone works a lot better for contacts than it did under 1.5 - at least contacts to outlook Still miss the "favorites" button on the phone dialing. In 2.1 that button is history, not favorites. That I dont like and is a pain and, would have like to have seen the google voice keyboard for speach-to-text built into the application |

MAIL Contact Addresses
OK, just noticed that sync/2.1 did mess up a number of email addresses in my contacts. Appears that if I had 1 email address, sync worked well. If I had 2, sometimes a 3rd was created with one of the first 2. however, if I had 3 email addresses, sometimes all 3 were replaced by the primary email address for that person. that was not good. having to clean that up now...... |

Has anyone installed the voice to text on the keyboard with this update? Google navigator has it, but why not the keyboard? Im wondering if theres an add on that can be downloaded.

Did you activate it? If so, you have to hold down where you would type for a few seconds and it will bring up the option to use the XDA keyboard. |

another plus is that it seems link to BT is stronger with less dropping and BT to the M$ sync in car connects faster. In addition, when I drop headset connection and want to connect to Sync, it works without having to reboot phone and/or BT. Plus, i spend a lot of time on different confernce bridges and this version dials the ,'s as well as the #'s. all in all, if Sprint is going to release it soon, well it would be worth the wait but my guess is not live for a while and this is worth it to me, even if i have to rebuild it again...... i needed the dialing enhancements and BT. |

Yea but from what I see no live wallpapers and voice to text are killers for me since I already have that now.

I am going to be curious to see if the same features are being pulled from the Eris's version of 2.1 or is Sprint gimping this version on purpose. My sister has an Eris and once Sprint's official update is out I am going to do a head to head comparison. It seems like HTC has 2.1 working with SENSE on a bunch of phones including the mid range HTC Wildfire for Europe that was just annouced.
(Specs-wise, it has a 3.2-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen, and 5MP camera with auto focus and LED flash, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS, Wi-Fi, and a 3.5mm jack. ROM is 512MB, RAM 384MB, and it runs on a Qualcomm MSM7225 528 MHz processor—during a hands-on session with it the phone didn't lag noticeably, though of course that could change once it's loaded up with apps and media. Battery life is listed at a pretty average 1300mAh.) full story.... http://gizmodo.com/5540496/htc-wildfire-has-new-app+sharing-widget-for-sharing-the-love |
