New bing mobile app - voice navigation!

Just thought I'd share - I downloaded the new bing mobile application (released today) - it actually has voice navigation (so, it actually speaks out the directions)
It also has integration to the contact list - so you don't have to type in the contact's address anymore.

I guess I'll check it out but I dont like how bing opens opera mobile to view links. I might as well just open it myself.

Personally, I always prefer to use IE (instead of opera) for web browsing on the TP2. So, I went to IE options, and selected the option to 'always check whether IE is the default browser' - next time I started IE, it asked me if I wanted IE to be the default browser and I selected yes.
Now, when I click on a link (in bing or in Email etc), it always opens up in IE. I haven't seen opera in a long time now

Using IE, I always have to zoom out. For example, I like checking Engadget.com on IE because it skips all the photos and videos so it loads faster, but it's irritating to have to zoom out every time.

Dowloading Bing now...come on spoken street names!!!

I'm sure it would have mentioned spoken street names if that were available, but voice command already reads everything under the sun...you'd think it would be pretty easy to incorporate!

Here's a couple of questions:

1. Can you type to select a contact, or only scroll?
2. Anyplace to set up a "Home" location, so you don't have to look up your own address each time?

Mine says beta as well - I read on other forums that if you keep it running long enough, it will tell you about an update (I'll try it on the weekend)

Selecting a contact - you know they had to screw something up! lol! Looks like scrolling is the only option at this time.

Home location - I've not needed that yet (since I use "use my current location") - or I can always pick myself from my contact list - or you can add your address as a favorite - it will show up under favorite/recent

Yeah, that's what I thought, but, hey, it is "Beta."
I'm really pumped about this...I've been using TomTom and Garmin XT for years, but spoken street names for FREE blows them away!
Man, this has got me rethinking dumping Windows...I guess the Evo will have Google Navigation too, though.

Anybody tried it on a Treo Pro yet? My wife won't switch to my brick of a TP2!

I tried it and dumped it. It's a huge resource hog. It's essentially the desktop version. It's slow and non intuitive to navigate and Sprint Navigation works better. I went back to the old version which is still available from MS.

Maybe it's me, but the application is slow and crashed twice. Is this posting about it being available being posted on all the forums by MS people? Seems all of the forums are getting the "hey, a new Bing is available" splatter all at the same time.

Plus, it won't find my location. I stood there for almost 20 minutes on the street and nothing, just the "locating" nonsense. Then even after I entered my address directly, said it couldn't find my address. I guess finding NYC is something that's tough.
