Pre 1.4.1.1 update is available (like/dislikes)

Not sure if this update was worth it since after installing the 800MHz patch my Pre has been working great.

My patches aren't auto updating with the new software. Hopefully they will soon.

This update should remove NFL Mobile and replace it with Sprint's new Football Live app. There is no way to update the NFL Mobile app by itself without a firmware update.

Verizon customers did not get the update,,,,seems they have a keyboard issue in their build.

http://www.precentral.net/

Reading between the lines, you can pretty much expect that Verizon, Bell, and Telcel customers don't have a clear ETA for getting the bugfixes in webOS 1.4.1.1. Our anonymous source confirms that "Verizon is on a slower 1.4.X release schedule," suggesting that we are definitely looking at "several more weeks" of 1.4.0.

For you developers, here's the straight story on webOS 1.4.1 (which O2 received) and webOS 1.4.1.1 (which landed on Sprint). From the SDK:

As of webOS 1.4.1.1, apps will have 60 seconds to perform background operations in "headless" mode (with no stages open). In webOS 1.4.1, the limit remains 15 seconds, as it was in 1.4.0.

In plain English, that essentially means that the issue some developers have faced with apps multitasking in the background is all set up with the new behavior on Sprint devices but not yet on other carriers.

You guys haven't seen snappy til you install the 800MHz patch on the Pre. I think it's going to be in Preware soon. I know some people won't take the risk since Palm said it will void your warranty but it's worth the risk to "me". You just have to keep a eye on temperature of the battery which there's a patch for that.

How is Palm or Sprint going to know if you have had the patch installed?

Preware would get stuck trying to load the app catalog so I turned it off. It started up and there's updates for Engadget and Pandora etc.

I forget where I saw this morning on treo central that Palm/Sprint can still see what processor speed you have even if it was to fry which would void your warranty. The 1.4.1 update did make the phone a tad faster.
