Family plan..Adding a blackberry?

Ok so we have a family plan,
Sprint Fair&Flex Family 1400/ and we want to ad a blackberry to upgrade one of the lines.. the line has the unlimited data plan. So If we get the blackberry willl we have to change plans . I know I have read that you won't be able to use the blackberry e-mail but there are other progs to get. Just trying to be clear before we get it. Thanks so much!

I have a similar plan with one Blackberry (and one regular phone). No need to change the voice plan, but there is a $30-$40 (depending on whether you need BES and tethering) charge for the Blackberry. Unless you're on an Everything plan, you can't use existing data or Vision/PowerVision with the Blackberry.

If you don't pay for the Blackberry add-on, you can't do any data. I know, because I've tried using PowerVision and it doesn't work. And I've explicitly asked a few times and been told that if you want BB data, you need the BB add-on.

i have the same thing with my family plan.

are you apying for the unlimited data on that line now? if not, call account services and see if they can give you a discount on the blackberry plan add on.

yes you can use the blackberry with the existing data plan, but many reps wont let you activate it with out the blackberry add on. i dont know why you wouldn't want all that the blackberry has to offer.

good luck and enjoy

I do want to be able to use the internet but since the line already had unlimited power vision and text, I didn't know if I would have to change. So it may end up being the same cost wise because I already pay 15 for unlimited text and another 15 for the unlimited vision, etc. The blackberry package includes texting right? Thanks again guys! I just don't want everyone phone on the plan to have to switch to an everything plan.

It would have to change. The standard data plans are not compatable with the blackberry. You'd have to have the $30 Blackberry personal pack, OR a bundle plan that includes a blackberry compatable data plan (Simply Everything, Everything Data Share, Talk/Message/Data, ect).

And yes, the $30 Blackberry personal Pack includes unlimited text messaging.
