when to install in main memory or mediacard?

since pdanet requires you to install to main memory, there must be some advantage to doing so. of the commonly installed programs which might benefit from also being installed to main memory.
i tried sprint tv and it might of been more peppy,i have installed smaller footprint programs to the main memory and installed anything with a meg or more to media card.
i like to leave a good amount of main memory empty because sometimes i acccidently make my save point in the main memory or because of possible temp files.
anyone have opinions about this and should i just save everything to card unless required otherwise?

Usually what I do, is if it's something that's going to be displayed on the Today screen or something that is fairly important to the system itself I'll install that to the device. Otherwise I'll install to the memory card. There are some programs that do not support being installed to the card, though, and have to be installed to the device.

i keep 95% of what i use in main memory the only apps that reside on my card are my gps apps (tom tom and route66) because they open faster, and tend to be more reliable plus if i ever remove the card for one reason or another i wont be left without my apps

i make it a habit of keeping at least 20mb free for cache and temp files, and that seems to work on my Q9c with no problems, my touch has about 100mb free which also works well

thanks guy for some quick responses.i am going to give installing to main memory a try.i had been wondering about this also for the eventual purchase of the wifi card and of course having most or all of my apps not available was shying me away from it.i had figured that getting one with storage space was my only option with also having to install to the wifi card.
thanks again.

I agree, I keep all my apps in memory and just store my files, music, videos, etc on the card. My Mogul has about 90MB available so I'm not hurting any...

Does anyone know what pre-intsalled programs you can safely remove from the 700WX to free up more main memory for storing apps?

Looks like you use a Mogul....there have been issues where, at least using the Touch, the memory card gets corrupted randomly. Many have pinpointed this due to the fact that programs were installed onto the storage card rather than the main memory. Ever since I read that I made it a point to just install programs onto the main memory and keep music, pictures, videos, etc onto the storage card.

Unfortunately removeable storage is not that stable yet in today's society.

But who knows, maybe none of this applies to the Mogul.
