Just ordered the 8400...hope I will like it!
I just ordered the 8400 to replace my A900. I hope I will like phone, I have played around with it a lot at the sprint store and it seems very good. The phone feels very good and solid in my hand and will fit well in the pocket. Glad I didn't get the razr, it feels sooooo cheap.

You will finally be able to enjoy battery life. The A900 is a charger hog. The 8400 is solid. Contacts back up on the miniSD and memory slot are huge features.

I have had this phone for a week and I really like it. You had better stick with this one because all the people buying motorola razor phones are having problems.

The 8400 is a nice compact phone and for the money you can't beat it. Some people say it feels cheap but even though the phone is light it still feels solid, at least to me. Another feature that I like is that you can put pictures and screensavers in folders which makes it quicker and easier to view. Also I have a ton of screensavers so it took me just to a few minutes to put them all in my phone rather then sending a lot of text messages which is time consuming. I was going to get one of the cool Motorola's but I prefer function over looks.

I think you'll like the phone, if you don't...you can always consider trading it in for the much-awaited-for M-1.
I like the 8400 but there are some bugs, like in the camera. But pretty much everything else about it I'm quite happy with. Check out the other posts in the Sanyo area here if you want to read more of what folks are experiencing with the 8400. Generally the problems are much less severe than folks are experiencing with the Fusic and some other phones. I like a ton of things about the 8400. I love the animations (there are 3), the phonebook is great, good tools, loud speaker, solid feel, great reception. (and what other phone currently available comes preloaded with the "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" ringer?! )

I love my 8400. Previously had the 7300. Custom ringtones and animated ringers uploading via the SD card, LOVE IT!
PLus being able to watch any video I save on the card. I'm not looking back. My wife with her a640 though is another story.

I hope you like it, as well. I've had mine for 4 weeks now, and I am in love with it. My previous phone was a 2300. Nice phone, but very basic. I decided to upgrade to a phone with more features. I refer to my 8400 as my 'swiss army knife', and the amount of useful stuff that it can do has really impressed both myself and my husband. I upgraded the microSD to 1G, and have loaded several music CDs, each in its own folder, and voila! -- an excellent mp3 player. Camera and camcorder functions have both worked acceptably for me. I like to listen to NPR while driving in my car, and sometimes will arrive at my destination while in the middle of a fascinating story. Do I need to miss the rest of it? No, because later on I can fire up Sprint Radio and choose to listen to current NPR stories on demand. I recently was sitting in the waiting area of the DMV. Boring. So, I put on the earbuds and watched the latest news on Sprint Live TV. I've had occasion to go out of town a couple of weekends this month, so I got to put the GPS function through its paces, using the Garmin navigation system. Worked great! Turn by turn instructions, and very easy to hear thanks to the loud, clear speaker. And where to eat when out of town? Garmin makes it easy to find all kinds of businesses, including restaurants, hotels, gas stations, and much more. Need to look up something on the web while on the run? Download Opera Mini. It's free, and it is amazing how well a browser can work on such a small device. And since I have a phone as modem plan, for bigger jobs I am able to connect with the laptop from anywhere. And did I mention that it functions superbly as a phone? Great reception, clear speaker, crisp, assignable ringtones and a very good address book. It also has an on demand feature gives me easy access to the latest news and weather, and gives me local movie theater info, including show times and a link that allows me to buy tickets right from the phone. So, all I can say is, if it turns out that you like your new phone half as much as I like mine, you'll be very happy.

Now that you've ordered the phone, take a look at some of the threads concerning uploading ringtones and video to the sd card via usb, without having to use tools such as focus.

Thanks for all of your responses, now I really can't wait to get my hands on it! I can't believe it sill hasn't been shipped, I thought that I would have it by now. You all seem very happy with the phone, after all no phone is perfect but some do come close. Now it looks like I will be waiting until next week until this phone gets here......grrrrrrrr!

Bluetooth issues
This phone is not the phone today if you want blue tooth. Because you can only voice dial 25 contacts, which is a waste of money to buy the bluetooth for this.

To my surprise the phone arrived yesterday!! So far, so good. This phone feels great. My wife really like it too and wants to order one to replace her a900. Now if I can just figure out how to transfer photos over on the mass storage. Everytime I drag them over when its connected to my compter, all that shows up on the phone is a red "X" for each pic......

On day 3 with the 8400 and so far I am really enjoying this phone. I like everything about it so far. The battery life puts the a900 to shame. Great feel, easy to navigate around, phone reception is very good. Definitely made the right choice getting this phone.
