installinf ringtones LG Rumor Reflex
okay so I went out and bought a micro sd card for the phone.. got mass storage to work and was able to move ringtones I own from my pc to the phone, but I am not able to assign these ringtones.. when I do get close it says not a valid file. I tried both midi and mp3 ... small files. Can I get this phone to use my ringtones ?

Try using an app called Zedge.
They have almost every ringtone available and you can set ringtones- notifications and alarms thru the app itself ! The other app I recommend is "Ringdroid" You can make any ringtone and set the ringtone thru the app as well ! Hope this helps!

Workaround
I haven't figured out how to get audio files to play as ringtones. But you can use video. So I made a slideshow, used the song I wanted as the sound track, and transferred it to the phone with the USB cable. No data plan required!

Having a data plan is the easiest and best way to install custom ringtones (mp3) files on your new LG Rumor Reflex. Create and or Save a 30 second mp3 file and use a file uploader like
http://www.wm5.mobi/index.php. The uploader is intuitive and will know by the file type where to "send" the file. Your phone will recieve a txt msg with the download link. Using the link will lauch the phones native browser and prompt you to download the file. You may get the unsupported file type warning but hit continue. Once file is uploaded then you will be able to assign it as a ringtone.

Hey guys
I think i may have the answer. I have the Rumor relex and as you can see by my reponse I was unable to download any ringtones. I have finally figured out how to do so. First, download a free program called Converter lite. With your mp3 ringtone open it in the convertor. click on format or the next tab at the bottom of the screen. in there you choose whether you want devices or format. Here I chose Format and then with the little arrow find the icon called 3gp. You then choose 320x240 quality. Hit next and then hit convert. It should save in the same folder as the original ringtone download. Connect your phone to pc and add the ringtone to the micro SD and your done and can set it as a ring tone. |

This method seems to be the best way to get your mp3 as ringtones without using any service data transfer but needing to use an SD micro card, on the LG Rumor Reflex.
1. Transfer the files to a location on your sd card. 2. Change the file extension of the mp3 file to 3gp or 3g2 (ex: song.mp3 -> song.3gp) 3. On phone go to Main Menu -> Tools -> Mass Storage -> File Manager -> Folder_where_you_placed_3gp-or-3g2_files 4. Hit "Multi Select" button on top, then select music file 5. Hit "More" at the bottom right 6. Hit "Assign As" 7. Hit "Ringer" 8. Proceed from last step |
