I know someone will turn this simple question into an all-out argument somehow, so I will get my response in early. I am still loving my EVO at almost 2 years. If the new EVO ONE performs well, and there is root and development support for it, I would probably get it. No 4G where I live, so I am assuming a long wait for LTE. 4g was never a big thing for me. When I used to receive a solid 3g signal over a year ago, I was content.
So, in closing, 4G, LTE, matters not on my next phone. I realize that I won't be able to utilize it for a while

Honestly not important to me. Until I see LTE work as well as advertised in my area I'll continue to use WiFi.

Since I had the EVO4g, the EVO 3d and now the ET4G with no 4G in my area I will say yes. I live east of NYC on Long Island and 4G isn't near me, I have used it when I go to NYC.

LTE is supposed to be rolled out here in the second roll out at the end of this year according to what I have read. If it isn't the phone will be fine on 3G and I am almost completely covered by wifi anyway.

I guess YES is the answer from me. As long as it is the newest phone and I like it I will purchase it.

I'm buying the GSIII on release day and have no idea when Columbus will get LTE.

I returned my EVO 4G because there was no 4G in my area when I bought it, and then I bought it again when there was a decent 4G network.

But part of that was because I didn't want to pay the Premium data fee when I wasn't getting Premium data. If there's no increase in fees for LTE, I think many people would be willing to get an LTE device because all the high-end smartphones will be LTE anyway. I did notice that even on Verizon, a lot of people were opting for non-LTE Incredible2's, Droid X2's and such because they thought getting an LTE device was a waste of time since they didn't have LTE at the moment. I don't understand that line of thinking. Just keep LTE turned off in your settings and it won't consume any more battery!

I plan to preorder an EVO LTE for delivery on release day. Houston is supposed to be one of the early LTE cities. Lets hope it really does work better than WiMax did. The phone is a good step up from the 3D anyway and the pricing looks pretty good.

I will. I'm still on my Hero which is only 3G, so using 3G for a while won't be an adjustment at all for me.

I'm going to, simply because my current phone is falling apart, and I want my new phone to last me 2 years. I figure LTE is the future, so better buy something that's part of the next generation than buy something using a technology that's on its way out (WiMAX). That way, in 18 months I'll still be happy with my phone.

IF the 3g worked well in my area, I would not care about 4g. Yes, it's nice to have when downloading things and watching video, but otherwise not needed. However, since the 3g in my area NEVER gets above 50kbps, I am switching to Verizon this summer. I absolutely love the specs of the new Evo, however it is basically useless with dial-up 3g speeds and no 4g.
