I despise Android. I could careless how popular it is. I find it to be the most derivative, Schizophrenic, and convoluted OS on the market. BB10 looks really good, but RIM is way too late to the party. iOS is my current weapon of choice, but I much prefer WP8, even with the anemic app selection.

It's WP8 like Windows Phone 8. WP8 gives me an update to the OS that I love WP7/7.5. I've never owned a 4inch+ screen because I went from flip phones like the Samsung N400, A660 and A900 then went to the HTC Touch WM6.5 phone. I followed that with the HTC Touch Pro and now I have the HTC Arrive. I've been using Metro since I got a Zune HD and I think the UI style and usability is better than iOS or Android. Go ahead say it's not. That's your opinion. Seeing as Android and iOS are getting updates on Sprint why should we WP users get left in the cold? I've been with Sprint since 2001 and this is THE first issue I've had with them. To me if I want a phone update I now have to switch carriers. I hate iOS and Android. Why stay? I'm going to a carrier that has what I like. Simple as that.

Let the countdown begin!

3 More Days!

A choice, and the option to stay with Sprint.

So it's vaguely the least bad option? Ok that's fine. I was asking for specifics though, what specifically is great or better or not as bad?

Going from WP7.5

New start screen
Customizable Live lock Screen
HD Screens
For Sprint Users the KB is fixed from disappearing (Sprint never deployed the fixed update)
It's based on an NT kernel which means Apps made for Windows 8 can be ported easily to Windows Phone 8
Native C and C++ support (easier app porting)
It's a Faster OS and Apps open faster and more fluid
The multi Tasking has been updated to 8 Apps at a time
When you relaunch an open app by tapping the icon it doesn't relaunch the app
Integrated Skype (Works just like receiving a real call)
Free Global Wifi Hospots coming for Windows Phones

I'll add more when I get my Lumia 920 which off the bat:

OIS camera
Super sensitive screen that can be used with gloves on
Nokia Maps
Nokia drive
Nokia City Lens

More to come!

In about 5 minutes 2 More Days!!

I totally agree with speaking with my wallet! I'll come back to sprint when they get new Windows Phone. I would've taken the 8X on Sprint.

I compared the HTC 8X to the Lumia 920 side by side at an AT&T store and there is really no comparison. The Lumia blows the HTC away. The difference is screen quality is stunning.

Yeah, I put my Arrive next to the Lumia 920 at an AT&T store.

The Arrive looked like a ratty ancient device. It also made me instantly realize that Nokia's betting the farm on the Windows Phone platform, using this hardware will pay off big for them.

They had also run out of the Windows Phones, though that could also be indicative of not getting very many.

What's with the now widely reported problem that that they randomly reboot several times an hour.

Support forums at Microsoft, Nokia, and WPCentral all have tons of complaints of freezes and re-boots, not just on Nokia phones but on all WP8 devices. Microsoft themselves reported they were "rushing to finish WP8" by the release date they had promised (already delayed once). I guess this is what you get when you rush.

Why are you so negative regarding Windows phone? Why do you feel the need to make snide comments all the time?

It's a reported fact in Slashgear and other places. It's reality. If it makes no difference to you that your phone may randomly reboot on its own, perhaps while you're using it, then that's fine for you. For me, it's a deal breaker. When something like this happens frequently enough to make the papers it's a non trivial event. If I were looking for a phone and it had a bunch of 1 or 2 star reviews that said "Great....when it works but it turns off a lot." I'd pass it by for another kind of phone.

I guess I have absurdly high and irrational expectations. I have to get a new pair of Sylvania Silver Star Ultra headlight bulbs for my car tomorrow because not having headlights or having headlights where one is blown out or they only work intermittently is a somewhat big deal for when I drive.... in that dark at any rate. Maybe some people don't care about. But a phone isn't a time machine or a moon rocket. It either works reliably or someone else can own it.
