I can't believe I just preordered a phone that doesn't even have a release date yet. I hope that May 18th date holds up (May 18 2012 that is)!

want more bad news? i had seen this over at xda

wirefly has it for 149.99 but they list shipping date as may 18th so its not all bad

Make sure you read the fine print with Wirefly. Personally I prefer to buy a new phone locally and don't care if I have to wait a little longer. It's just easier to deal with a exchange or return.

Just preordered mine today. upgrading from an HTC Touch Pro 2, and this is the phone that made me finally bite. (Versus going for the Galaxy S2 Epic a few months ago).
I've played with my brother's Evo's over the years and was impressed by the series.

I'm seriously close to pre-ordering this phone. I just called sprint and asked if they could offer me anything more than the $150 upgrade credit since I haven't used an upgrade credit in 5 years now. The answer was no.. It was worth a try. So close....

The web status of my order also had the May 15th date this morning, but I now get the following:

Is it possible that the May 15th message was programmed in before the LTE problems were discovered, and that they've replaced it with the backorder message? Or did my order get in too late and the first round of phones are already spoken for (I ordered within 20 minutes of the phone being available)?

Does anyone still have the May 15th message in their order status?
