Arrow HP's TouchPad running Ice Cream Sandwich? Mmmm, thanks CM9 (video)...

Another smote at the hearts of those who failed to reach the fire sale in time: CyanogenMod 9 is bringing some ICS flavor to the TouchPad and it's apparently not far off. The video after the break gives us a glimpse of some remarkably stable operation, especially considering how tricky it was bringing CM7 to HP's slate. It looks like everything functions except the camera and video playback, and the team behind the port promises it'll give us "something to play with soon."

The first public Alpha build of CM9 was released early yesterday morning. I have been running it on my Touchpad since last night and am really liking it. Not perfect - but for a 0.0 alpha, pretty damn good - and I would expect that the CM crew and other developers will have the major bugs and missing features taken care of.

Aside from the current inability to use the Netflix app and not recognizing AdHoc networks... so much better than CM7.

I don't care about ICS, I just want a stable Android 2.2 to run for my work apps.

I may be getting Touchpad this month, was curious what is the update on getting Android goodness on the pad? IS CM9 past alpha/beta or zed?
