EVO 4G vs iPhone 4 (and more comparisons)

Now that the iPhone has been announced and it's full specs released I'm sure glad I went with the EVO. Nothing to brag about over at Apple today. Biggest flaw is their video chat is with wifi only and only with other apple devices. EVO FTW !!!

There's plenty to brag about. Both products have a lot going for them. Both have advantages in different areas. I love my Evo 4G, but it's just ignorant to think the the iPhone 4 doesn't offer some advantages.

I sure hope Engadget does a comparison with the EVO because they are such Apple fanboys it's not even funny.

I haven't purchased an Evo and don't know too much about the new iphone so I'd like to know what you feel are iphones advantages? No bashing, just want to hear some opinions. I did read that Netflix will be offered on iphone but that seems scary to me with At&t limiting data use. What else?

I would like to know the advantages as well.

On another note, Engadget are feverishly deleting comments that do not favor the new iphone. Forgive me for straying off topic a bit.

I doubt engadget will put Evo on the top like it should, but whatever....

Where's miami4g and Garcia85 in the midst of this?

Hands down, OS 4 ain't got nothing on Android if you do the research, there's a reason why iphone users want to run the OS on their phone, including Froyo

It's not a game changer like EVO that's for sure.
iPhone will ALWAYS be about the OS+GUI.
So the hardware is not that out of the world.

The screen technology is superior, displaying more pixels and colors. Personally, I prefer the size of the Evo's screen but know many people that will prefer the clarity.

I expect the camera quality to be better. Megapixels are a moronic way to measure a camera's worth. HTC has never made the best cameras. The one of the Evo is good, but not great. The camera on the 3GS was great at the time. Again, time will tell.

Battery life will be better, but the disadvantage is that you can't change the battery on the iPhone.

The biggest advantage is that the iPhone development community is older and larger than Android's. The Android Market has come a long way in a very short time, but it's still way behind the App Store. Also, there are several apps that are just better for iPhone. Look at Facebook as an example; the iPhone app is more robust than Android's.

Again, they're both great products. It really depends on what you're looking for and what works for you. Since I'm very much tied to Google services -- particularly GMail and Google Voice -- the Evo makes more sense to me than the iPhone. That said, I'll probably have to pick up the iPhone 4 for work.

Plus, $30 a month for mandatory "iPhone Data" plan.. yikes.. and I'm sure AT&T will find a way to increase it when the new device hit's the market.

Plus you're all forgeting one of the most important things: the iphone is on the A.T.&T. nextwork. Every person I know that has an iphone complains about dropped calls and the entire A.T.&T. system going down for 1 to 2 hours at a time, at least once weekly. I'll stick with Sprint and my EVO any day of the week!!!!!!!!!!!!
