Ahh sarcasm. gee thanks for that advice. Really appreciate it. I wasnt going to try and get an upgrade for free to begin with... but if they keep giving me crap devices, then yes, i think i should be upgraded to something that actually works.

As of this evening, the phone has been refusing to send out text messages... keeps saying message sending failed. Im in a urban area with full coverage, so unless Sprint's network is as flawed as T-Mobile, than I think that constitutes as a PHONE issue. Why do all you people think im trying to scam sprint???

Just bring it into a different S&R location and tell them the issues that this replacement is having, and how many times it has been replaced in the past. They are supposed to offer you a different model when you have had it replaced at least 3 times, though some managers will likely push it to 4-5 replacements before they change models.

I really dont get the negative comments. He has indicated physical issues with the functions of the device, not its ability to run another OS or a custom ROM. If the store is giving him multiple lemons, at some point it has to be less expensive for Sprint to just send him a different model that works properly. IMO, a properly functioning Mogul refurb would not be a drastic upgrade from the 6700, and I doubt he is spending all this time to get a Mogul from Sprint when he could get one on CL or ebay for not much more then he has spent in gas.

When you buy extended warranty coverage, you expect the repaired or replaced device to function properly. If the company can not repair it at a reasonable cost, most coverages allow for them to switch your model for another with the same or similar features.

It all depends on who you got it from (asurion with the deductible or the sprint store at no charge) and what is available at the time. The Mogul was out of stock in Feb and they were offering TP's as replacements, then at one point they had no TP's and it was Treo 800's, Touch Diamonds, etc.

Simply put, they have refurbs now and Sprint will not do an upgrade because the device is out of stock, unless the device will physically not function. They will likely get you a new battery before they swap a device for a new model!

Online AE

I don't know for sure if this is still available, but last Christmas my 2nd 6700 broke (first was stolen) and was pretty messed up (usb port not working screen being wierd etc) Around January there was this big thread about the online advanced exchange giving out Touch Pros in replacement for old smartphones like the 6700. I've had a Touch Pro since January. It was certainly a nice upgrade however the Touch Pro seems to break a ton based on all the comments on forums as well as personal experience. I'm on my 3rd right now and the last one was shipped to me from Advanced Exchange with a broken keyboard. Google Sprint Advanced Exchange and the link should come right up. Perhaps put in a zip code such as 93405 that is no where near a service center as it will sometimes tell you to take it to a service center near you if you are near one. Then it'll tell you what phone they will replace yours with. If you're happy with whatever is offered, keep clicking next.

How far can you go before it asks you to complete the order/request?
