How likely is it Sprint rolls out Tiered Data ahead of the iPhone 5 LTE

The iPad 3 already has a CDMA LTE Chipset. So the iPhone 5 will no doubt have LTE. And recently with the thread below indicating its changes to international data. Changes are coming. Not only that Apple at WWDC 2012 iOS6 will allow FaceTime over cellular.

That being said I can't see how Sprint does not require plan changes to get the LTE iPhone 5 and requires people to be on new Tiered Data Plans.

Anyone disagree.

If you are a Sprint stock holder like me all I can see is alot of money being left on the table when I look at this breakdown.

Sprint needs to go tiered data.

"I'm not anticipating the unlimited plan would change by that point," he said. "That's our distinctive differentiator."

Bigger question will be how much is Sprint gonna have to pay iPhone 5? =\

Bets anyone? 5 -10 - 15B?

I wouldn't start speculating that Sprint is going to force users onto a tiered LTE data plan that doesn't exist yet.

The Sprint iPhone gamble is looking less and less like a good idea considering that HTC and especially Samsung are releasing viable competitors to the iPhone based on Apple's recent legal moves. But that's my opinion.

I think Sprint backpedals from the previous statements. Saying "I don't foresee" is alot different than sayings NO its not gonna happen.

At the very least maybe special Iphone only plans.

I really think people would tell them to **** off, rather than pay an ''iPhone'' fee

Sprint will not even consider tiered data until Network Vision is complete nationwide. Even after Network Vision is complete, the hardware installed will now give Sprint an easier way to analyze the data traffic statistics to determine the average data usage per each tower per month. That will determine if they still need to go to tiered data anytime soon. With Sprint deploying small cells, femtocells, wifi offloading, DO-Advanced to balance tower loads for 3G EVDO, stress load on the macro towers shouldn't be that bad.

With Verizon and AT&T going to shared data plans, this is the perfect time for Sprint to try to swoop in and try to steal customers away from them and unlimited data is the main marketing tool. The only thing right now is that Sprint needs to start launching some LTE markets so that tech blogs and fanbois can do speedtests and begin creating buzz about how Sprint LTE speeds are fast so that people will start taking the leap of faith and switch over in hopes that their city will be that fast when LTE is launched.
