Being this isn't a phone nor accessory. I hope this is a good place for this review? If not mods can move to appropriate place.
I bought this modem on Ebay a while back being Sprint won't sell it to customers in "operational status" 4G areas which Denver Colorado is currently. And tech support hooked up service to it back door style for the $44.95 a month service fee for unlimited 4G only (without 3G backup) data service. I sold one of my EVOs recently to buy this setup and put it into operation. And had some money left over for X-mas presents. ![]() With that said. Since no one on SU has offer a review of this device, I will. ![]() The modem is a kick butt device with dual antennas and with its plug and play functionality. Meaning no SmartView needed. This device launched in 2009, but only now did I find out about it thru Sprint reps that I know told me about it. Only 4G markets will see this device on sprint.com type in this zip code 78780 and you will see it too... One can use the modem with its Ethernet cable directly to a P.C. or thru a router like in my picture for a GREAT 4G performance. My average speeds have been 3Mbps down and 1Mbps up hopefully this will get better when Denver is fully launched around Dec. 15 from my sources. Keeping my fingers crossed here!!!!!!!!!! I love the device cause it can keep a steady 4G signal in my home whereas my EVO couldn't. ![]() The green lights on top of the modem indicate signal strength and as you can see from my pic I have full strength. I am using a D-Link N-150 router for my WiFi needs. The modem I got off Ebay was for $29.99 and the router for $25 from Office Max that had some D-Links on sale. All in all I got a pretty good deal overall. And no need for Comcast's overpriced services!!!!!!!!!!!! "Cutting the cord, snip" So, if anyone is looking for a great device for a internet connection that won't break your wallet. Check out this setup. This info is from Sprint's site. Quote:

Further bad news as of today's date 10/02/2011.
Sprint no longer supports this device for new activations, and only existing lines are supported. In other words Sprint has pulled any and all existing 4G Desktop Modems from inventory, and any 4G Desktop Sprint Modem bought on Ebay, C-List, etc won't be activated. The SOC codes for the Modem have been pulled from the system period. I tried to help a friend today activate a Sprint 4G Desktop Modem as a new activation and it was a no go. Friend went to Clear instead. Just an FYI for today..
