Nice. I put Fresh on mine last night as well. I was using DCv3 but Fresh seems to be the most stable and removed all the Sprint bloatware and still left the apks on the sd card for easy install. NiiiiicE!

Did you accept that new update or did you not get it push to your phone yet?

looks sweet, so Im new to android, care to tell me what the details of fresh are and what advantages? I need to reload everything anyways my battery life sucks ass for some reason like draining 20% an hour lol

Currently I'm just using unrevoked to run Wireless Tether.

What benefits would I get out of using the Fresh ROM rooted over what I currently have?

Besides the ability to remove the Sprint apps.

Also are you not able to update the device when HTC and Sprint releases updates?

If you are a Fresh ROM user, you don't want updates from Sprint until the developer/hacker checks them out. I trust him more than the folks who push them out legitimately.

^^ Correct. Plus, i noticed in the Fresh rom, both the baseband and software ver are the latest...no need to update. I got that update when using a different rom and it broke root.

Just in case anyone is interested Fresh ROM for the EVO will be officially released soon. It's available for testers and donators now. I'm flashing as we speak.

Changes from 0.5.3 to 1.0.0:

* Built off of the new 1.47.651.1 base!
* Updated apps2sd to DarkTremor 2.7 Update 3r1
* Updated Fresh Updater to 1.1
o Mostly just visual changes. Turning the “themes” tab in to patches + themes + tweaks tab. More to come on that.
o Make sure to Check the How To to setup and use Fresh Updater if you haven’t before.
* Removed FriendStream and Peep
o I had been leaving them in because people love FriendStream but they are such battery drainers that I chose to take them out. You can reinstall them through Fresh Updater.
* Made new boot.img containing the newest HTC kernel (789bf291)
* Updated boot screen thanks to wrx4memp — the “O” was made solid. While it wasn’t wrong in the first place and was the font he used, we agreed it would be better to just make it solid.
* Updated Launcher Pro to 0.6.6
* Updated Rom Manager to 2.0.0.5
* Updated Qik to 0.03.54
* Check the download links below for an updated radio and wimax image.

I am playing around with it right now and some people are reporting not able to update Google Maps at the moment (I haven't tried yet)

I am getting a force close on trying to access Accounts & Sync but I think it's a bug since I had Peep installed and Twitter set to sync. Since he removed it in this beta I'm going to try reinstalling it and trying again.

If you have used Fresh 0.5.3 it has the Fresh Updater and you can reinstall Peep or Friendstream that way if you don't have a backup.

I'll post more as I find it but so far it's basically 0.5.3 with the 1.47 update included.
